MISSION AND CORE VALUES
Legacy Classical Christian Academy exists to glorify God by assisting Christian parents in their God-given mandate of training their children to be Christ-like leaders in their homes, churches, communities and the world. Legacy Classical will spiritually strengthen families while providing the opportunity for students to acquire a high degree of academic excellence.
CORE VALUES
ALTRUISM
To instill the essential value of humility through diverse opportunities to serve family, peers, and community, to encourage students to act out their faith by expressing itself through loving others, and to surround one another as a body of believers for encouragement and support.
ACADEMICS
To provide an opportunity for students to acquire a high degree of academic excellence, to inspire a passion for God’s truth, to train students to think critically from a biblical framework, and encourage independent learning.
ARTS
To enrich student curriculum to allow for exploration of artistic abilities, experience performing in a variety of settings, and reflect God’s truth in serving our community.
ATHLETICS
To build up competitive sports teams that will promote a healthy lifestyle, practice the traditional ideals of good sportsmanship, develop Kingdom principles, and change the culture of sports in our community.
ABUNDANCE
To provide an abundance of time and tools for parents (the child’s first and most important teacher) to build strong, healthy relationships with their children (Deut. 6:5-7).
STATEMENT OF FAITH
HOLY BIBLE
The Bible is God’s infallible word that reveals God’s will and purpose for mankind. (2 Peter 1:21; 1 Thessalonians 2:13)
Every word in the Bible is inspired by God and is the ultimate authority for living a fulfilled life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13)
God’s plan to bring us back to Himself was fulfilled totally and completely in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as clearly recorded in the Holy Bible. (I Ptr 3:18).
Only the Holy Bible is Holy Scripture. Other books such as Watchtower, the Book of Mormon, and Dianetics are man’s attempt at adding to scripture. (Psalms 119:160; Prov. 30:5-6; Deut. 4:2; Rev. 22:18-19)
GOD
There is only one God who has revealed Himself in three persons- the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. (John 15:26; Galatians 4:6)
God is the Creator and in control of all things. (Genesis 1; Ne 9:6; Psalm 24:1 -2; 33:6-7 & 9)
JESUS
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin (Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:35), sinless and perfect. (Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:22; 2 Corinthians 5:21; John 8:45-46)
Jesus taught the truth and demonstrated the power of God in miracles. (Matthew 9:12; Matthew 9:12; Mark 1, 5-7; Luke 4-6, 8; John 2, 4, 9, 11)
Jesus died on a cross (John 19:1-3, 16-18) to atone for man’s sins, rose from the dead (Luke 24:39; Acts 10:40-41; Matthew 27:62-66; Mark 16, Luke 24), and ascended into heaven. (Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9-11) By His death and resurrection, Jesus has cleansed from sin (Acts 13:38) those who repent of their sins (Ephesians 1:7) and believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior. (John 3:16; Romans 10:12; Acts 4:12)
Upon salvation, a relationship with the Father is restored through faith in Jesus Christ his Son, faith can increase (Romans 8:3-4; Philippians 3:9; Ephesians 2:8-9) and the fruit of the Spirit and faithful obedience to God’s Word will be evident in the Christian’s life. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of prophecy and Old Testament scripture.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit indwells the believer and gives the enabling power of God (Acts 9:31) to live a holy life, to overcome sin, to understand the Bible (1 Corinthians 2:10), and to do the will of God (John 14:26).
NON-DENOMINATIONAL POSITION
Legacy Classical Christian Academy’s Statement of Faith is fundamental to basic Christian tenets and contains those doctrines to which we unreservedly adhere and teach. It is our desire to maintain this position and to do so in all fairness to each family.
It is necessary, therefore, that parents, students, staff, and school board members recognize that the following areas are to be left to the teaching of home and church:
Church government authority
Time and mode of baptism
Security of the believer
Timing of future events
Work and gifting of the Holy Spirit
Sinless perfection
Sabbath Day observance
In honoring this desire concerning the outreach of this ministry, there shall be no attempt made by parents, students, staff, or school board members to promote or disparage any doctrinal or denominational beliefs, practices, or positions regarding issues upon which the ministry itself has assumed no official stance. We desire to remain united in the salvation and love of Christ, avoiding the dissension which may be caused by denominational distinctives.
