Thank you for your interest in Legacy Classical!
University-Model School
We are a certified University-Model School in the North Fort Worth/Haslet area, supporting families who seek to fulfill the biblical mandate to train children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4). We count it a privilege to come alongside families who desire to be “in the world, but not of it” as commanded in Scripture. (1 John 2:15, Romans 12:1-2)
Legacy Classical Christian Academy is a five-day academic program. Highly qualified teachers provide instruction in the “central classroom” two (PreK-6th) to three (7th and up) days a week. The remaining weekdays are spent at the satellite classroom completing reinforcement assignments and projects. Parents and/or private tutors attend valuable training workshops to help ensure quality mentoring and learning at home. Both classrooms are under the supervision of the professional educator at the school. In general, students spend one to two hours on at-home assignments for each hour they spend in Legacy Classical classrooms.
What makes Legacy Classical Unique?

Classical, Collaborative, and Christ-Centered
Our faculty, families and staff are committed to helping our students develop a Christ-centered worldview as they engage in academically advanced curriculum. This is the essence of a classical education. We adhere to this model through a structure called the Trivium, a Latin term meaning “the three ways” or “the three roads,” which form the foundation of an individual's formal education: grammar, logic and rhetoric. Grammar is the mechanics of a language; logic (or dialectic) is the mechanics of thought and analysis; rhetoric is the use of language to instruct and persuade1. In addition, we employ the progymnasmata throughout lower school and upper school instruction. The progymnasmata are preliminary writing exercises that introduce students to basic rhetorical concepts and strategies.
Inspired by Charlotte Mason
Charlotte Mason was a 19th-century British educator and philosopher whose schools were designed prior to the influence of the Industrial Revolution. In the early 20th century, education took a political turn away from being family-centric when politicians like Horace Mann wanted to legislate education and instruct the nation using secularly focused curriculum.

True to a pre-Industrial educational model, LCCA uses three distinctly Classical practices. We use Forms 1 - 6 instead of Grade Levels PreK-12. We use a Family-Centric philosophy, rotating content on a two or four-year basis. We use Standards-Based grading instead of a typical A-F system. For a detailed understanding, please refer to our blog post “Do not be conformed to this world.”
What are Forms?
Here’s the gist of it – basically, the American school system uses Grades to indicate progression, such as Grade 1, Grade 2, etc., whereas the British school system uses Forms. And Charlotte Mason was, after all, a British Educator.” [Lebowitz] While Mason’s Forms combined three American grade levels, Legacy Classical has only combined two grade levels.

Legacy Classical is internationally accredited with Cognia. “From the 2018 merger of AdvancED, the leader in continuous improvement and the world’s largest accrediting body, and Measured Progress, an innovator in standards-based assessment, the new organization Cognia™ is born.”
Only private schools with an accreditation organization found on www.tepsac.org are recognized by the state. This does not mean students are required to take state testing. However, colleges and the military will accept your child’s high school transcript without question. In addition, the Valedictorian receives an automatic scholarship: Highest Ranking Graduate. “The award is free tuition (at a Texas public college or university) during both semesters of the first regular session immediately following the student's high school graduation. “ [https://tea.texas.gov/HRG/]
This also provides Legacy with the ability to host Collegeboard testing such as PSAT, SAT, or ACT. We hope to be able to designate our current classes as official Collegeboard pre-AP classes in the near future.
